वाह! इश्क़ के दर्द और बेख़ुदी को ग़ालिब के अंदाज़ में पेश करने की कोशिश है:
1. **तुम्हारी एक निगाह-ए-बे-वफ़ा भी क्या कम है?**
**के इस पे जान भी लुटा दी, मगर अदम है।**
*(Translation: Is even one unfaithful glance from you too little? For upon it I sacrificed my life, yet it is as if nothing exists.)*
2. **बस इक तेरे ही जमाल से कायनात को हासिल है वक़ार।**
**वर्ना ये हस्ती-ए-बे-मकसद, इक जुस्तजू-ए-बे-क़रार है।**
*(Translation: Only from your beauty does the universe attain its dignity. Otherwise, this purposeless existence is but a restless quest.)*
3. **न पूछ, इश्क़ में क्यूँकर ये दर्द-ए-लाज़िम है?**
**ये वो आग है, जो बुझ जाए तो फिर क्या बाक़ी है?**
*(Translation: Ask not, why is this pain necessary in love? This is that fire, if it extinguishes, then what remains?)*
4. **फ़क़त एक निगाह-ए-यास ही मसर्रत का सबब है।**
**के ये दिल-ए-नादाँ बे-ताब-ए-मुद्दआ कहाँ अब है।**
*(Translation: Merely one glance of despair is the cause of joy. For this foolish heart is no longer restless for any purpose now.)*
5. **रहा न होश-ए-ख़ुदी, न कुछ ग़म-ए-ज़माना रहा।**
**के जब से इश्क़ तेरा दिल में अपना घर बना रहा।**
*(Translation: Neither consciousness of self remained, nor any sorrow of the world remained. Since your love has made its home in this heart.)*
6. **ये अक़्ल क्या समझे जज़्बात-ए-मोहब्बत की ज़बान?**
**के ये वो राज़ है, जो दिल ही से बयान होता है।**
*(Translation: What does this intellect understand the language of love's emotions? For this is that secret, which is expressed only by the heart.)*
